Camping on Masonboro Island

This weekend, some friends and us decided to go camping out on Masonboro Island. Masonboro is an uninhabited island right below Wrightsville Beach island. The only way to get there is by boat so thankfully our friend, Rodney, was willing to drag all of us out there along with massive amounts of bags and food. We started our camping excursion off by walking the endless miles of near empty beach, picking up seashells, and watching the boys surf. Then ol' Joe started a campfire going for a hot dog dinner and some s'mores. We all stayed up until the last of the firewood ran out and all we could see was the full moon. It was so much fun and I can't wait to do it again!

Semper Fidelis

My little cousin, Aaron, just graduated from the Marine Corps Boot Camp! Joe and I drove down to Parris Island, SC to meet up w/the rest of my family to go to the graduation. I'm so, so proud of Aaron and I know that he'll take this challenge and run w/it. And it's great seeing Aaron look up to Joe as a fellow Marine that has lived this life before and succeeded. It was such a great day and Aaron was really an inspiration to everyone. Way to go bud!

P.S. The last picture is of me w/Hummer, the Marine Corps mascot bulldog. What a cutie!

Little Miss Ella

It was another fun-filled lunch today with Little Miss Ella and Robin! In the last picture I posted of Ella, she was sporting a very fancy flower headband. You know you loved it! Well to Ashley & I's surprise today, Robin managed to collect enough threads of hair to clip a tiny pink bow on. How cute is she! I just can't get enough of this little girl.
