48 Years of Bliss

 You know Nanny & Pappy.
Hopeless romantics.
Eternal lovebirds.

Today marked their 48th Wedding Anniversary.
APPLAUSE!!!!

I made my celebratory phone call to the happy couple as I nestled into my Pottery Barn throw and asked again for them to tell me all about the day they got married.  It always starts with, 'You remember where the old block factory used to be in town on Pennsylvania Avenue?'  And ends with, 'Now we didn't have any big party afterwards ... unless you count the hotel!'  Insert chuckle from Nanny here.
APPPLAUSE AGAIN!!!!

They just melt my heart.

A Day In The Park

To further celebrate this sunny weather good fortune,
I spent a day in the park with my favorite Snuggle.
And my favorite Snuggle mom.

Spring Is Springin'

The entire town of Wilmington was all a' buzz last week.  Everyone knew our first 70 degree Saturday was coming.  People were making last minute party plans for their backyard.  Getting their boats gassed up.  Flip-flops out.  All to-do lists were put away in honor of such an amazing occasion.
Joe & I already knew our plans.  Drive out on Carolina Beach, Sandpiper Subs in hand, and enjoy a nice ocean-side lunch together.  With excited hearts pounding, we watched as some dolphins played in the surf nose-diving for the little fishes that live there enjoying their own sort of lunch.  A local horse farm brought out their young riders and we watched as they trotted along the water's edge.  Lots of people were grilling out.  Walking their dogs.  Playing frisbee and touch football.
I, Miss Pasty White, got my first sunburn of the year.  It only takes a minute, Dr. Tanner would say.  Eh, it's worth it.

C is for Charlotte ... and Christening

If you've been keeping up with the Top 10 of 2010 you'll know that we have a new little baby niece, Charlotte.  Having been born last September, we've patiently been waiting 4 long months to meet her and snuggle her and whisper sweet nothings to her.  Finally our time to shine as Aunt Mel & Uncle Joe had arrived and it was perfect. She was perfect.  Her nose.  Her lips.  Her eyes.  Her amazing gentle spirit.

We flew up to NH last weekend to meet her and witness her christening. We felt so blessed to have been part of such an important occasion.   And are eagerly looking forward to our next visit with this SWEETNESS.
