Come on in, 2011.

Happy New Year!  Or as the Croatians say, Sretna Nova Godina!
We said goodbye to 2010 and hello to 2011 in the arms of our favorite Durham couple, Josh & Jen.
With an amazing night spent in honor of a new beginning, it's tradition to make a new year's resolution.  And since I love tradition, I'm always game for inventing something new that will hopefully better myself.  And hopefully last past the month of January.
So my resolution for 2011 is (drum roll, please!) to become more COMPASSIONATE.  I don't know if you're thinking I sound really deep right now or too vague but hear me out.  I hate to admit it but I find myself doubting how much people hurt.  I'm usually skeptical and sometimes standoff-ish and prefer to look the other way if I think someone is faking their emotional pain or playing their own sympathy violin just for attention.  And this year, I want to stop all that.  If someone is hurting, I want to be there for them.  Wrap them in my arms.  Hold them tight.  I want to be their friend.  I want to give unconditionally and gullibly, if necessary.  Break down the wall and let the river come flooding in.
And well Joe ... I think his resolution was to drink more Guinness.  You win some, you lose some.
Cheers to a new year, 2011!
